WELCOME… Adirondack Shito-ryu Karate is a Christian Karate club.

We are not a ministry of any church or denomination.

We do not require membership in any church or denomination.

Our philosophy is a Christian discipline. We refer to the Holy Scripture (Bible) as a way of Christian life.

Our martial arts rank certification is with the Matsukazi Shito-ryu Karate, Kobudo, JuJistu Federation.

Our system is a complete martial arts program based on the empty hand techniques, forms, and ancient weapons systems of Okinawa Karate and Kenpo. Martial arts training will improve balance, awareness, strength, confidence, and instill the ability to properly defend your self. Your participation will instill various life skills and will enhance your overall wellness and fitness. We practice defensive techniques and forms with a Christian martial arts philosophy, and study traditional karate history. We also study the ancient weapons systems of kobudo and practice defensive drills and forms using the actual weapons of the Okinawan kobudo system. It is important to us that all students learn and understand the knowledge found in karate and understands completely the methods of the traditional martial arts with a Christian Discipline. Training with other Christian martial artists will also expand your Christian Fellowship.

Chief Instructor - Sensei Gary Bennett - 4th Degree Black Belt

A Christian, devoted husband and father of two children, homeschool parent, and a USAF veteran of the Vietnam era. Sensei Bennett holds black belt ranks in both karate and kobudo, (certified with the Matsukazi Shito-ryu Karate, Kobudo, JuJistu Federation), is a certified AAU karate referee, has also competed successfully at multi level AAU karate tournaments in sparring and kata, continually trains in the martial arts and has established himself as an excellent instructor of karate and a respected dojo leader, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Matsukazi Shito-ryu Karate Kobudo JuJistu Federation by Shihan Paul Fracchia, Soke (Headmaster) of the organization, and has been training with Shihan Fracchia since 1989. Sensei Bennett has also studied with other great modern karate mentors as: Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa (SKI Shotokan Karate), Soke Kenzo Mabuni (Seito Shito-ryu) and Jeff Speakman (AKKS American Kenpo Karate).
